Abstract

This systematic literature review examines the role of augmented reality (AR) in enhancing interactive learning experiences in education. AR has emerged as a transformative tool in educational settings, offering immersive, engaging, and dynamic learning opportunities that improve student engagement, motivation, and academic outcomes. The review analyzes 12 studies that explore how AR technology has been integrated into various educational contexts, focusing on its impact on learning outcomes, student engagement, and personalized learning experiences. Key findings from the review indicate that AR fosters active learning, encourages student participation, and enables the visualization of complex concepts, making abstract ideas more accessible. Additionally, AR allows for differentiated learning, offering students the ability to engage with content at their own pace and receive real-time feedback. Despite the numerous benefits, challenges such as the high cost of AR technology, the need for educator training, and limited long-term research on its effectiveness are highlighted. This review underscores the potential of AR to revolutionize traditional education, yet emphasizes the importance of overcoming these barriers to ensure its widespread adoption. Future research should explore the long-term impact of AR on learning outcomes and investigate strategies to improve access to AR technology in diverse educational setting.
