Vietnam’s rural economy has undergone significant structural transformation over the past three decades, driven by market liberalization, agricultural modernization, and targeted infrastructure investment. This paper explores the intersection of rural economic development and regional policy in Vietnam, focusing on rural income diversification, migration patterns, and spatial inequality. It analyzes national programs such as the New Rural Development initiative (Nông thôn mới) and examines regional disparities between the Red River Delta, Central Highlands, and Mekong Delta. The study offers policy recommendations for inclusive, resilient, and environmentally sustainable rural and regional growth.
