Peer Review Process

Authors who submit to Future-PAPI Journal are presumed by the journal to make certain representations about their submission and about their rights to publish it. Authors are strongly encouraged to consult the journal’s Author Representations Policy for further details.

How to Submit
Manuscripts should be submitted electronically via the PAPI Submission Portal.

Submission Requirements:

1. Account Creation:
   - The lead author must register, providing full contact details.
   - A declaration confirming that:
     - The work is original and unpublished.
     - The manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere.

2. Conference Paper Extensions:
   - If the submission expands on a conference/workshop paper, identify the event and detail the new contributions.

3. ORCID Integration:
   - Authors must link their ORCID ID. New users can register at ORCID.

Review Process
PAPI employs a rigorous  double-blind peer-review system managed through Editorial Manager.

1. Initial Submission:
   - Authors submit to the Editor-in-Chief (EIC).

2. Associate Editor (AE) Assignment:
   - The EIC assigns an AE based on topic expertise and conflict-of-interest checks.
   - If the EIC has a conflict, an AE oversees the entire process.

3. Referee Selection:
   - The AE suggests 3–4 referees (subject to EIC approval).
   - Referees commit to 4–6-week reviews (extensions up to 10 weeks if needed).

4. Review Phase:
   - The AE and referees evaluate the manuscript.
   - The EIC monitors progress to ensure timely feedback.

5. Decision Proposal:
   - The AE recommends one of the following based on referee feedback:
     - Accept
     - Minor Revisions
     - Major Revisions
     - Reject

6. Author Notification:
   - The EIC communicates the decision and shares anonymized reviewer comments.

7. Production:
   - Accepted papers are transferred to PAPI’s production team.

Revisions:
- Minor Revisions: Typically approved by the AE without re-review.
- Major Revisions: Resubmitted versions are re-evaluated by original referees.
- Rejected Papers: May be resubmitted as new manuscripts if substantially revised.

Additional Policies
- Address Updates: Authors must notify the EIC of contact changes.
- Technical Correspondence: Brief technical notes undergo expedited review.
- Author Appeals:
  - Concerns should first be raised with the EIC.
  - Unresolved issues may escalate to PAPI’s Editorial Oversight Committee.
